It was previously announced that Company of Heroes 2 will be released by March 12, 2013. March 12 was selected because Blizzard’s StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is also releasing that day. However that is not going to be the case. Since the time the developer Relic was sold by THQ to SEGA, we are yet to hear anything about WW2 themed RTS.
Now things are changed and SEGA and Relic have officially changed the release date of Company of Heroes 2. The game will now be released on June 25th, 2013. There are no specific reasons given for this delay. The press release just stated this
“Relic Entertainment is using the additional time to help Company of Heroes 2 meet the high standard set by its predecessor, the highest rated strategy game of all time.” Executive Producer Jonathan Dowdeswell also added, “We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date as we know they are eager to play but we feel the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel they deserve.”
From a gamer’s perspective all we want is a better and complete game. We are also looking in to the rumors about the proposed plan of opening a multiplayer beta for an exclusive group of gamers. We will write about it as soon as we get further information.
