Well, the PS4 is over a year old now, and it is really developing into a fantastic console. The little glitches at launch and the few features that were missing have been fixed, and things are looking rosy for 2015.
2014 was a great year for the PS4. Games such as GTA V, Destiny & The Last of Us showed us just what the console was capable of, especially bearing in mind that many of the titles were ports of last gen games. Let’s take a look at some of the best games that are coming to the PS4 this year, you might want to start a savings account now. Remember to pre-order some of these titles from your favorite game store to ensure you get a copy and use tellgamestop overview to leave a review.
Resident Evil HD
The original Resident Evil was probably the best in the series before the franchise lost its way with five and six. So what that the graphics were a bit rough and the voice acting in the FMV sequences was cheesy? This game has it all! I for one will be picking this up day one and re-living some gaming glory from the past – “Don’t open that door”.
This game is not as well known as our previous entry, but that’s ok, everyone has to start somewhere, right? Well, Turtle Rock the developers behind Evolve cut their teeth helping out on Valves masterpieces – Left 4 Dead and Counterstrike. So trust me when I say they have great gaming credentials. Evolve essentially pits four players against a giant transforming monster, with amazing powers. I can’t wait to see how this one plays out.
The Order: 1886
The Order: 1886 was, in fact, slated to be a launch title for PS4, way back in 2013, but it just wasn’t ready and the devs pulled it to polish it up. They have done a fantastic job creating a Victorian London complete with supernatural creatures and steampunk weaponry. It reminds me of a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in a way.
So unless you have been living under a rock this past few years you will probably have heard of Hidetaka Miyazaki. If you don’t know who he is, then I expect you will have heard of his game series – Dark Souls.
Dark Souls is considered one of the best (and hardest) dungeon crawlers ever to exist. His latest project entitled Bloodborne, seems to have taken the style and the difficulty with it but is shaping up to be a much more tactical title. I for one will be proud to die a million times completing this.
The Elder Scrolls: Online
I have only ever played Oblivion and Skyrim from this series of five games, and I am hooked, their style, story, and gameplay all blew me away, when they released on 360. Now Bethesda the makers of the Elder Scrolls games is making it into an MMO, imagine playing in the Skyrim universe with a friend to help you take down all those dragons. Hold on I just need to call my boss and tell him I will be sick all of 2015.
